Your donated technology powers E2D’s mission

What We Accept as Donations

We gratefully accept gently used computers and modern devices that were released within the last 10 years. We can advise you on how to clear data from your device before donating or provide certificates of destruction upon request.

Accepted Technology Donations

We accept a wide range of laptops, tablets, desktops, and accessories, including:

  • Accessories & Components (Chargers, power cords, keyboards, mice, hard drives, RAM, and other functional computer peripherals)

  • Apple MacBooks including recent Air, Pro, and Apple Silicon models

  • Business-class Windows laptops (Dell Latitude/XPS/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook, Lenovo ThinkPad)

  • Chromebooks

  • Desktops & Small Form Factor Computers (Business-class systems from Apple, Dell, HP, and Lenovo)

  • LCD Monitors only

  • Microsoft Surface devices

  • Servers and networking equipment

  • Tablets (iPads and others)

  • Cell Phones Apple & Samsung models manufactured within the last 6 years

Items We Cannot Accept

  • Consumer electronics (Outside of computing equipment)

  • CRT monitors

  • Devices that are locked, encrypted, or inaccessible

  • Printers, scanners, and shredders

  • Severely damaged equipment (Beyond usable parts recovery)

  • Speakers

Not sure if your donation qualifies? Contact us — we’re happy to help determine whether your technology can support our mission.

What happens to your technology:

All donated devices are examined for reuse and refurbishing. We can typically reuse entire devices, and many parts can also be reused. Items that we cannot reuse are recycled or resold to support our mission, so nothing you donate ends up in landfills.

Free Pickup!

 

  • E2D offers free donation pick up within Greater Charlotte and will consider pickups outside of Charlotte upon request. 

  • Our staff will coordinate pick-up time(s) and location(s) to physically remove the equipment and provide an Equipment Donation Receipt.

  • Donated devices are stored in our secure warehouse or labs.
